HUCD Students Recognized for Leadership and Achievement at NDA
Three Howard University College of Dentistry students represented HUCD at the National Dental Association (NDA) Transition Meeting held in Sacramento, California, gaining valuable experience in leadership, continuing education, and professional networking.
During the meeting, Natera Wilson (D4), and Thomas Savage (D3) were each awarded the Crest + Oral-B Bridges Scholarship, an honor presented to only five dental students nationwide for academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to increasing diversity within the oral health profession.
Raheem Pierre (D4) was officially installed as Student Trustee on the NDA Board of Trustees, where he will serve as the voice of dental students across the nation - continuing Howard's legacy of leadership within the dental community.
The students also attended advanced continuing education sessions, including implant placement, correction, and pain management courses led by renowned dental educator Dr. Stanley Malamed.
Their participation underscores HUCD's enduring mission to prepare compassionate, ethical leaders dedicated to advancing oral health equity and professional excellence.
