HUCD's Dean Andrea D. Jackson Inducted as Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy

Howard University College of Dentistry (HUCD) proudly announces that Dean Andrea D. Jackson, DDS, has been inducted as a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA), one of the most prestigious international honorary dental service organizations in the world. 

Founded in 1936, the Academy is named after Pierre Fauchard of France (1678 - 1761), widely regarded as the Father of Modern Dentistry for his pioneering role in elevating dentistry into a recognized profession. Fellowship in the PFA is extended by peer nomination to fewer than 3% of dentists worldwide, recognizing exemplary leadership, and service to both the profession and the community. 

Dean's Jackson's induction took place at the 87th Annual Meeting and Gala of the Pierre Fauchard Academy held on October 25th, 2025, in Washington, D.C. 

A two-time Howard alumna, Dr. Jackson earned both her Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Doctor of Dentistry of Dental Surgery (DDS) degrees at Howard University. Over the course of more than 30 years, she has dedicated her career to educating and mentoring the next generation of dental professionals, while advancing initiatives that expand access to oral health care and strengthen academic excellence.

Dean Jackson's recognition as a PFA Fellow stands as a testament to HUCD's continued legacy of leadership, scholarship, and service in advancing the field of dentistry and oral health equity worldwide.
