Dr. Jaha Howard (B.S. ’03, DDS ’07) – Leading with Service and a Smile
Howard University alumnus Dr. Jaha Howard embodies the spirit of excellence and service that defines the Bison legacy. A proud graduate of the Howard University College of Dentistry, Dr. Howard has built an impactful career that bridges healthcare, education, and public service.
A pediatric dentist by profession and founder of A+ Pediatric Dentistry of Atlanta, Dr. Howard has dedicated more than a decade to improving children’s dental health and expanding access to quality care across Georgia. His hands-on work in the community has shaped his belief that healthy smiles are at the heart of healthy families.
On December 2025, Dr. Howard was sworn in as Georgia State Senator for District 35, representing parts of Fulton and Cobb counties in metro Atlanta. Before his election to the State Senate, he served four years on the Cobb County Board of Education, where he championed educational equity, teacher support, and stronger community partnerships.
In addition to his public and professional accomplishments, Dr. Howard continues to stay deeply connected to his alma mater. As a member of both the Howard University College of Dentistry Board of Visitors and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., he actively invests his time and resources to support the next generation of Bison scholars. “I’ve benefited from others’ generosity, their time and their money,” he notes. “Howard will always attract the best and most motivated students who are going to change the world. They need support, just like I needed support.”
Dr. Howard’s journey from Bisons’ campus to the Georgia State Capitol reminds us that Howard graduates continue to shape a better world through leadership, compassion, and excellence.
