Our Mission

The mission of the Howard University College of Dentistry (HUCD) is to provide exceptional dental education to qualified individuals from all backgrounds, emphasizing recruiting students from historically under-represented and disadvantaged populations.

 

Our Vision

The college is dedicated to maintaining a humanistic culture and learning environment while attracting, sustaining, and developing a cadre of administrators, faculty, staff, students, and alumni, who, through teaching, research, service, and outreach are committed to producing distinguished, compassionate, and culturally sensitive graduates. Furthermore, the College is dedicated to providing and training competent graduates to deliver high-quality, patient-centered, evidence-based care to our patients locally, nationally and internationally, with the goal of reducing health disparities within disadvantaged populations and improve oral health in our local, national, and global communities.

Howard University College of Dentistry is dedicated to providing an exemplary education, service, and research that promotes patient-centered, collaborative care and advocacy for the elimination of health disparities.

Our mission includes the philosophy that education, research and service are inseparable constituents of a modern dental education.

The College of Dentistry is a comprehensive education and research institution that attracts highly motivated,  academically accomplished,  students from culturally diverse underrepresented backgrounds and continue to be national resource for developing dental leaders and the local, national and global communities.
